Dr. Appiah-Padi has more than 15 years of teaching and administrative experience in both 4 and 2-year higher education institutions in Canada and the United States. In his current position Dr. Appiah-Padi directs the Office of Global & Off-campus Education and leads international education initiatives including liaising with its international partners, study abroad programming, and working with various stakeholders for campus and curricular internationalization.
Dr. Appiah-Padi has a Ph.D. from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada in Educational Policy & Administration with a specialization in International/Intercultural Education; a Master’s from the Loughborough University of Technology, Loughborough, United Kingdom; and a Bachelor’s from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi, Ghana.
He is very active in NAFSA having served on the Career Task Force, and also as National Conference proposals reviewer (2011) and reviewer of applications for Trainer Corps membership (2012). He is currently a member of NAFSA’s Trainer Corps, Dean of the Fundamentals of Intercultural Communication Workshop, and Chair of the Africa Special Interest Group. He enjoys dialogue on current social, political and global issues, and is also an avid soccer fan. Dr. Appiah-Padi resides in Lewisburg with his wife and three children.
