"This, playing college basketball in America, is my dream and I'm living it.
"I wanted to play college basketball since I was 12. So when I graduated high school in Australia, I contacted someone my mom knew, who works in Bucknell's athletics department. After a transition year at a prep school in the states, playing various tournaments at Bucknell and visiting the campus, I fell in love with it.
"My teammates and I are all competing for a spot on the court, which is especially tough as a first-year student. They joke about how I say certain words, like 'aluminum,' which to them sounds like 'al-you-min-ee-um,' but they've been really welcoming. If you've played a team sport, you know there's no way you can go into a new environment without the support of a team. In the future, I definitely want to exhaust basketball as much as I can. I could go to Europe to play, or I could go back home to try out for the Jayco Opals, which is an Australian team in the Women's National Basketball Association.
"Academically, I'm majoring in neuroscience. Intro to Neuroscience is my favorite class because it combines biology and psychology, which I have been interested in since high school. Prior to Bucknell, I never really approached science with major enthusiasm, but Bucknell has inspired a passion for neuroscience within me. I am hoping to go to medical school so I can eventually work in a third world country. Through medicine, I want to help people with my own hands."
