East Asia - Tchou Collection

Digital Image Collection

Introduction to the Collection

The Tchou East Asian Collection is a database of over 900 images taken by Wei Kang Tchou and Sheng Tchou on their excursions through China.  This set of photographs was created as an addition to Bucknell's pre-existing East Asian Studies Collection, but is also accessible as its own collection.  Users can search by title, object type, or subject matter. To search across all fields, search by keyword.

In this collection, users can find many images of such Chinese landmards as The Great Wall, The Forbidden City, and The Ming Tombs.  There is also an array of authentic Chinese food imagery!

Metadata Schema

A locally-created metadata schema is used to support the East Asian Collection. The collection is based on VRA Core, Dublin Core, and the schema designed at Bucknell to support the Humanities Collection.

The collection is available to the public.
