Health & Safety

Bucknell has implemented policies and procedures to ensure health and safety at campus dining facilities, based on the expertise of food safety experts and in alignment with CDC guidelines. Information about what you can expect in campus dining facilities may be found below.

What You Can Expect in Dining Areas

  • All food will be served by a dining team member in to-go packaging. There will be no self-service.
  • Dining venues will have maximum occupancy limits to ensure physical distancing. New diners will not be allowed inside until the venue is below capacity.
  • Only disposable cutlery and pre-packaged condiments will be available to reduce shared touch points.
  • No self-service areas, bars, buffets or made-to-order stations will be available in order to reduce multiple touch points.

Social Distance and Face Coverings

  • Students should maintain social distance while waiting in line. Reminders about social distancing will be posted in dining venues, including floor markings at serving stations.
  • Diners must wear face coverings at all times when they are not seated and actively eating, including while waiting in line. Dining team members will also wear face coverings and gloves.
  • Seating at indoor dining venues will be limited to maintain physical distance. Additional outdoor seating for students to gather and eat meals will be available.

Cleaning and Other Safety Measures

  • Dining Services will abide by a stringent cleaning and sanitizing schedule, which includes all guest contact surfaces, tables, door handles and other high-touch surfaces.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available to guests at multiple locations throughout all dining venues.
