Bucknell Dining Services has developed a range of programs to address the diverse dietary needs of our campus community. Throughout our dining locations on campus, we ensure your food is properly handled, clearly labeled and prepared with your satisfaction and safety in mind.

Allergy Accommodations

Food Allergy & Gluten-free Training

We understand how challenging dining with dietary needs can be and work hard to meet all students' needs. All food handlers working for Bucknell Dining have completed the full AllerTrain U manager level allergen-awareness program.

Food Labeling

All items served in Bostwick Marketplace are clearly labeled via countertop menu signs with icons representing 10 major allergens and indicating whether a dish is gluten-friendly, vegan or vegetarian.

Honest Eats at Bostwick

Bostwick Marketplace's Honest Eats section offers food for those guests with dietary needs that can't be accommodated through the regular lines. Honest Eats will have daily entrées for lunch and dinner modeled on the main-line entrée eliminating six of the "Big 8" allergens. Some Honest Eats items will contain eggs and fin fish.

Bostwick Marketplace uses no recipes containing nuts (except for baked goods) and segregates nuts to the dessert counter in the dining hall.  In addition, we are removing nut crusted items from the catering guide in order to keep our fryers nut free for dining hall guests.

Bostwick Marketplace offers plain grilled chicken every day during lunch and dinner and offer it cooked to order during light service in the afternoon.

Bostwick Marketplace Allergy Friendly Zone offers allergen free items designed to complement and complete your meal along with designated toasters and utensils and is divided into three areas, each focused on specific allergen avoidance including:

  • Gluten Free
  • Soy, Peanut and Tree Nut Free
  • Egg and Dairy Free (Vegan)

Guests may always have items individually stir fried or sautéed to order at Bostwick’s Saute and V2 stations as well as at Bada Basil and Bison Fresh in The Bison 

Stations at the Bison offer a wide variety of built to order options, including options for gluten free breads and wraps, vegan cheese and spreads and the ability to customize most orders

All items packaged for our grab and go program are clearly labeled with ingredients and a consolidated allergen list

With advance notice, our catering department can provide individually crafted meals to fulfill specific dietary needs. Contact us to discuss your needs. We are will be happy to discuss our gluten and allergen-friendly offerings.

Nutrition Resources

Besides offering the Bucknell community a healthy mix of nutritious meals and snacks, we've also developed resources and programs to help you develop and maintain healthy eating habits.

EatWell

EatWell is Bucknell's online tool that allows students, faculty and staff to make educated food choices. This service allows visitors to:

  • View nutrition information for individual items or an entire meal.
  • Filter menu options by allergens.
  • Learn healthy eating habits and choose well-balanced meals.
