Mpox Information

The University is closely monitoring the current global outbreak of mpox (monkeypox). While mpox has an extremely low mortality rate, it is transmissible, and cases are rising in Pennsylvania. Individuals in congregate living situations should stay informed about symptoms, precautions and prevention.

Students who test positive for mpox should isolate and immediately notify Bucknell Student Health at 570-577-1401. After hours, they should call Public Safety at 570-577-3333 and ask to speak to the on-call provider. Students with mpox should also notify the Pennsylvania Department of Health at 877-724-3258.

Employees who have mpox should isolate and contact their health care provider and the Pennsylvania Department of Health at 877-724-3258.

Please watch this page for updates regarding Bucknell's response to mpox.
