LEWISBURG, Pa. Tia Fuller, perhaps best known as the saxophonist for R&B star Beyoncé, will perform on Saturday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. at the Campus Theatre in Lewisburg. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The event is free; tickets are not required.

The event is sponsored by the Weis Center for the Performing Arts and is part of Bucknell University's Janet Weis Jazz Series.

The event is being held in conjunction with Lewisburg's Celebration of the Arts.

Fuller is an accomplished saxophonist, composer and educator and has recorded three CDs on Mack Avenue's label: "Healing Space," "Decisive Steps" and "Angelic Warrior."  She has been featured in Jazz Improv Magazine, The Philadelphia Tribune, The Star Ledger, Downbeat Magazine and many other print and online publications.

As part of Beyoncé's world tours, Fuller has played in various venues throughout the United States, Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia.

She is a featured soloist on the "Beyoncé Experience DVD ('Me, Myself and I')", "I AM Yours I" DVD and also appeared on a number of major television shows, including The Oprah Winfrey Show, Today Show, Good Morning America, BET Awards, American Music Awards and Total Request Live, and the 2010 Grammy Awards.

The Colorado native, who resides in Essex County, N.J., says playing music makes her feel as if she is a vessel for the Spirit to flow through. While listening to her songs, she wants people to be uplifted and experience a sense of restoration, compelling them to move forward not in fear, but in love and faith.

Fuller has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Spelman College in Atlanta and a Master's degree in Jazz Pedagogy and Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
