Switch posterThe 2012 documentary, Switch: Discover the Future of Energy, will be shown Tuesday, April 22, at 7 p.m. at the Campus Theatre in Lewisburg.

The film is co-sponsored by the Bucknell University Environmental Center's Green Screens film series and presented as part of the University's ongoing Film/Media series.

Admission is $2 per person; Campus Dollars are accepted. The Campus Theatre is located at 413 Market St. in Lewisburg.

The 2012 film, praised by the Washington Post as "smart and refreshingly free of hot air," explores the shift from coal and oil to energies of the future.

Documentary filmmaker Harry Lynch and geologist Scott Tinker travel the world to discover how the switch most likely will happen, rather than discussing how it should happen.

Dina El-Mogazi, director of the BUEC's Campus Greening Initiative, will introduce the film, which is presented as part of the Geological Society of America's Energy Awareness and Efficiency program.

Earlier in the day, the Bucknell University Environmental Center's gardens will be the site of an Earth Day celebration with Bucknell student a cappella groups Beyond Unison and The Offbeats.

Visitors may view information about native plant landscaping as well as demonstration models related to renewable energy and stormwater management. A variety of teas and refreshments inspired by literary figures, such as Emily Dickinson, F. Scott Fitzgerald and J.R.R. Tolkien, will be served.

The celebration, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
