Bucknell and Myanmar, formerly known as Burma, have long shared a special relationship. Over winter break, 15 Bucknell students traveled to Myanmar to explore the country's Jewish community with Rabbi Serena Fujita, Prof. Janice Mann, art, and two staff members. Together they visited a synagogue in Yangon, explored temples and met with a legislative representative who explained the country's proposed educational reform.  The group also boarded longboats to view a village built on stilts in the middle of Inlay Lake, where they visited a monastery. Dinner with local alumni from 1962 and 2013 completed the trip, which was funded through the Human Tolerance and Understanding Endowment.
