The Mozart Project, hosted by the Bucknell University music department, is presenting a two-semester long celebration of Mozart's music and scholarship.

The series features lectures by world-renowned scholars of Mozart, followed by noon and evening recitals, including Bucknell faculty, students and international guest performers. In the second semester, the Bucknell Orchestra will join in the festival, accompanying a piano concerto and vocal works.

All events in the series are free and open to the public. The series is supported by funds from the Kushell Music Endowment of Bucknell University.

Lectures include:

  • Nov. 4. "Cadenzas, Preludes and Improvisation in the 18th-century Style," Roger Moseley, assistant professor of musicology, Cornell University, noon, Rooke Recital Hall, Weis Music Building.
  • Nov. 11. "What Happens to Mozart Piano Concertos When Played on Other Instruments?" Malcolm Bilson, fortepianist and professor emeritus, Cornell University, noon, Rooke Recital Hall, Weis Music Building.

  • Nov. 6. Mozart piano sonata with Silvia Jin '15, piano, Concert aria with Jessica Isgro '15, soprano, and the Piano Wind Quintet with the Faculty Woodwind Quartet and Sezi Seskir, fortepiano, noon, Weis Center Lobby.
  • Nov. 17. Mozart Project Concert.
