Twenty faculty members representing the breadth of Bucknell's curriculum have received University tenure. Their fields include engineering, management, the sciences and the humanities.

In an April vote, the Board of Trustees approved the professors' promotion to tenured positions. Tenure represents a long-term commitment between the University and a faculty member, who can expect to continue his or her career teaching and researching at Bucknell.

"The University congratulates our newly tenured faculty, who have demonstrated a record of fine teaching and mature scholarship assuring long-term excellence in their teaching and research," said Provost Mick Smyer. "Achieving tenure takes years of intense focus and work. They have proven to be excellent educators who will guide our students well for years to come."

Learn more about their teaching and research accomplishments in the second of a three-part series of new profiles. Next week, meet Bucknell's newly hired tenure-track professors.
