The Bucknell University Relay for Life event will be held Saturday, April 25, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. in the Gerhard Fieldhouse.
The event is open to all students, faculty, staff and community members.
Activities throughout the night include student performers, games and activities, blowups, and food.
In addition, three student speakers will discuss their experiences with cancer.
Bucknell University held its first Relay for Life 10 years ago raising $736, 211 since then. This year, the goal is about $86,000.
Relay for Life is the largest fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, providing money for cancer research and services provided to those who are affected by cancer (such as free lodging for families with children undergoing treatment, summer camp for children with cancer, prevention education and more).
Interested participants also can also purchase a luminaria bag for $10 in honor of someone who has cancer or in memory of someone who has passed away from cancer via the website or on the day of the event.
