From ancient shipwrecks to accounting, from stormwater management to studio art, the interests of Bucknell's newly tenured professors span the breadth of the curriculum.
The 18 faculty members recently received tenure in recognition of their excellence in teaching and scholarship. The Board of Trustees approved the promotions in April.
"Bucknell holds its faculty to a high standard for attaining tenure, and this group of distinguished teachers and scholars have proved their ability to succeed in the classroom, the lab, the studio and the field," said Provost Barbara Altmann. "When faculty earn tenure, they fulfill the promise we saw in them when they were hired. Tenure means a mutual commitment between the faculty member and the University for a sustained, productive career."
This is the second of a three-part series of faculty stories. Next week, meet Bucknell's newly hired tenure-track professors. || New full professors || See more faculty stories.
