Kevin T. Mathes, a 2007 Bucknell University graduate who is currently senior associate director of admissions at Dartmouth College, will return to Bucknell next month as dean of admissions.
"Kevin brings a powerful blend of analytical and people skills that will serve his alma mater remarkably well as Bucknell builds on our positive momentum in enrolling ever-more diverse and talented classes," said Bill Conley, Bucknell's vice president for enrollment management.
"I am honored to return to Bucknell as the next dean of admissions," Mathes said. "I look forward to sharing my story, as well as the stories of all Bucknellians, with prospective students from across the globe to help them understand the transformative education we provide. As I continue my professional journey, I am excited to work with an excellent admissions team to enroll students who will have a lasting impact on the Bucknell community."
Mathes was an admissions intern and double major at Bucknell, earning bachelor of arts degrees in both mathematics and education. He earned a master of education degree in college student personnel from Ohio University in 2009.
He began his admissions career at St. Lawrence University, rising to senior assistant director of admissions in 2012.
In 2013, he joined Dartmouth as a senior assistant director of admissions and quickly rose to his current position where he was responsible for strategizing domestic recruitment.
A native of nearby Danville, Pa., Mathes will join Bucknell on Sept. 18.
