Their expertise ranges from sustainable transportation and environmental history to spectral geometry and metals chemistry. These eight Bucknell faculty members were recently awarded tenure, an affirmation of the University's confidence in the strength of their teaching and scholarship.
"We are extremely pleased to confer tenure on this group of outstanding professors," said Provost Barbara Altmann. "In the early years of their careers, young faculty members invest significant time and effort in establishing themselves in their fields. As they concentrate on building their scholarly credentials, they must also develop their teaching style and classroom strategies, and find their place as a contributing member of the larger community. Tenure is recognition of outstanding performance in all aspects of a faculty member's job, and signals that Bucknell looks forward to many years of fruitful collaboration with these proven professors."
This is the second of a three-part series of faculty stories. Next week, meet Bucknell's newly hired tenure-track professors. || New full professors || See more faculty stories.
