A piano duo of Bucknell University alumnae will present music from the 20th and 21st centuries on Sunday, Aug. 30, at 4 p.m. in Bucknell's Natalie Davis Rooke Recital Hall in the Siegfried Weis Music Building. Khasma Piano Duo will perform works by six contemporary composers: Kolokol by Nina Young; half-light, somnolent rains by Jocelyn Morlock; Double Helix by Daniel Adams; Tôrô Nagashi (Lanterns of Hiroshima) by Jackson Hill; Simple Stars by Robert Morris; and In Void Kyong Mee Choi.

Ashlee Mack '03 and Katherine Palumbo '04 formed Khasma Piano Duo in 2012 to pursue a shared passion for contemporary music. Their tours have taken them to the Midwest, New York and Pennsylvania.

In January, Khasma presented the world premiere of Robert Morris' Forty Fingers at the Eastman School of Music. The duo has also premiered and recorded James Romig's Time Seems to Pass for two pianos and will premiere David Vayo's Times & Places in spring 2016. Khasma has recently performed at the SCI National Conference at Ball State University and has been invited to give a program of American contemporary works for the Illinois College Fine Arts Series.
