The Bucknell Institute for Lifelong Learning (BILL) will present a Lunch & Learn program featuring Professor Elizabeth Durden, sociology & anthropology, on Tuesday, Dec. 8, at noon at The Village Common, 6 Tressler Blvd. in Lewisburg.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m., and this event is open to the public. Beverages and light dessert are provided free of charge. Attendees may bring their own lunch or purchase a soup-and-salad lunch for $6 up until noon on Dec. 7 by contacting the BILL office at 570-522-0105 or at lifelonglearning@bucknell.edu. The lunch menu for this event features vegetable soup and chicken salad sandwich.

Prof. Durden's talk is titled "State of Immigration." In it, she will discuss her current research on how different states in the U.S. have influenced lives of immigrants and the variations among these influences. By exploring these variations, a window into the origins and evolutions of state-specific cultures is provided, which contributes to the national conversation on how different cultures contribute to the American Identity.
