Empty Bowls to Benefit Community Harvest in Milton

The Office of Civic Engagement at Bucknell University will sponsor the annual Empty Bowls fundraiser and awareness event on Thursday, March 10, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 to 7:30 p.m. in the Walls Lounge inside the Elaine Langone Center.
For a donation of $10, guests can enjoy a simple meal of soup and bread served in a hand-crafted bowl. They are then welcome to take home the “empty bowl” to remind them that there are many individuals in our society struggling with hunger. Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased online, at any Campus Box Office location or at the event. Cash, check or Bucknell ID are accepted.
Empty Bowls is an annual event at Bucknell that raises money to benefit the Community Harvest in Milton, a weekly hot meal program that serves 80-120 people every Monday evening. On a larger scale, Empty Bowls in an international grassroots effort to fight hunger.
The bowls for the campus event are made on campus at the 7th Street Studio. The Bull Run Tap House, Townside Garden Cafe, Barnes & Noble at Bucknell University Bookstore, Country Cupboard and Elizabeth's: An American Bistro are donating soup for the event.
