Robert Drake '73, managing director of NGM International BV, Maashaven Holding BV and Cygne AG, will speak at Bucknell University on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 4 p.m. in the Elaine Langone Center Forum. This talk is part of the 2016 Walling Lecture Series and is free and open to the public.
Drake has spent his entire career with the Nidera Group, based in the Netherlands, holding various positions including head trader, director of Nidera Handelscompagnie BV, chairman of the supervisory board of Nidera Holdings and managing director of Nidera Capital BV. The Nidera Group deals in agricultural business in a fully integrated manner from selling seeding seeds to the farmer right through putting bottled vegetable oils on supermarket shelves. Drake holds a bachelor's degree in animal behavior from Bucknell.
The Walling Lecture Series brings highly accomplished individuals with Bucknell ties to campus for on-stage interview in which they share their leadership stories and discuss their career paths and inspirations. The Fitz Roy and Mary Jane Walling Management Endowment funds the program. The Walling Lecture Series' focus on leadership honors Fitz Walling's many years as a University leader. He served as the longtime dean of admissions; helped start the College of Arts & Sciences, the College of Engineering and the former College of Business Administration; and established the Office of Planned Giving.
