Gypsy jazz vocalist Cyrille Aimée will perform on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 7:30 p.m. at the Campus Theatre in downtown Lewisburg, as part of the Weis Center's season. Patrons are encouraged to come early, as there will be a free pre-performance talk with the artist from 6:45–7:15 p.m.
General admission tickets for the performance are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 62+, $5 for youth 18 and under, $5 for Bucknell employees and retirees (limit 2), free for Bucknell students (limit 2) and $5 for non-Bucknell college students (limit 2). Tickets can be purchased online at the Campus Box Office or by calling 570-577-1000.
Tickets are also available in person from several locations including the Weis Center lobby (weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and the CAP Center Box Office, located on the ground floor of the Elaine Langone Center (weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
Aimée is a winner of the Montreux Jazz Festival's International Vocal Competition, the Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition and the 2015 DownBeat Critic's Poll for rising star-female vocalist. She happily tours the world with her band as well as in a duo setting with Brazilian guitarist Diego Figueiredo. Her talents recently caught the attention of Stephen Sondheim, who cast her in an Encores Special Presentation at New York's City Center.
