Madiha Tahir, journalist and director of the film Wounds of Waziristan, will speak at Bucknell University on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at 7 pm in the Gallery Theatre at the Elaine Langone Center. Attendance is free and open to the public.

Tahir's film tells the story of how drone attacks in Pakistan directly impacted some residents there in their own words. Since done attacks began in Pakistan in 2004, much of the focus has been on the technology, yet the people that live in the borderlands between Pakistan and Afghanistan are rarely heard. The film records the voices of those who have been either labeled militants or dismissed as collateral damage. The film also explores the simple question of "what does it take to be considered human?"

This talk is sponsored and presented by the international relations department.
