Momix to Bring Magic of American Southwest to Weis Center Stage

As part of the Weis Center's Family Discovery Series, Momix, a company of dancer-illusionists, will perform "Opus Cactus" at 7:30 Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts.
After a decade-long break, Momix is again performing "Opus Cactus," which brings the landscape of the American Southwest to life. Artistic Director Moses Pendleton employs his signature illusionistic style in the performance, creating dynamic images of cactuses, slithering lizards and fire dancers.
Since its founding in 1981, Momix has thrilled fans in more than 22 countries and has been featured on stage, screen and television. Pendleton combines athletic dance, riveting music, outrageous costumes, inventive props and pure talent to create an entertaining multimedia experience.
The approximately two-hour long performance, suggested for ages 8 and above, is divided into two 45-minute sections and a 20-minute intermission.Tickets for the performance are $30 for adults, $24 for seniors 62+, $20 for youth 18 and under, $20 for Bucknell employees and retirees (limit 2), $10 for Bucknell students (limit 2), and $20 for non-Bucknell college students (limit 2).

Tickets also are available in person from several locations including the Weis Center lobby (weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and the CAP Center Box Office, located on the ground floor of the Elaine Langone Center (weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
There also is a special, online-only rate for local youth taking dance classes: $10 youth and $15 for accompanying parents or guardians.
