The Weis Trio, a faculty chamber music group, will perform works by several well-known composers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 24, at Rooke Recital Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Lisa Caravan (cello), Colleen Hartung (clarinet) and Sezi Seskir (piano) created the Weis Trio after discovering a mutual interest in chamber music while working together as faculty members at Bucknell's Department of Music.

Combining their interests in standard repertoire and new music, the Weis Trio's 2016-17 season includes concerts in Pennsylvania, England and France. While in London, the Weis Trio will perform and work with students at the American School in London. The concerts in Paris will include performances at the Fondation des États-Unis and the Les Dimanches Musicaux concert series at the American Cathedral in Paris.

Repertoire for the March 24 concert will include works by Robert Muczynski (a well-known contemporary American composer), Nino Rota (an Italian composer best known for his film score for the Godfather movies), Paul Juon (a Swiss-Russian composer who wrote in the late Romantic style) and Max Bruch (a German Romantic composer inspired to write for this grouping of instruments by his son and clarinetist, Max Felix Bruch).
