A hit on Broadway, "A Year with Frog and Toad" will be performed at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts.

The performance is sponsored, in part, by the Bloomsburg Children's Museum. Patrons are encouraged to come early. From 6-7 p.m., the Children's Museum will host free kids' activities in the Atrium Lobby, including make-your-own frog visors, pond and forest sensory stations, and visits with live frogs and toads.

"A Year with Frog and Toad" was nominated for three Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Based on Arnold Lobel's beloved children's books and featuring a jazzy, upbeat score by Robert and Willie Reale that bubbles with melody and wit, the show is an inventive, exuberant and enchanting experience for the whole family.

The whimsical musical follows two great friends — the cheerful, popular Frog and the curmudgeonly Toad — through four fun-filled seasons, meeting new friends like Man Bird and Lady Bird; Father, Mother and Young Frog; Turtle; Squirrel; and many more along the way. Waking from hibernation in the spring, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding and learn life lessons along the way. The two best friends celebrate and rejoice in their differences that make them unique and special.

Part vaudeville, part make-believe, all charm, "A Year with Frog and Toad" tells the story of a friendship that endures, weathering all seasons.

The performance is part of the Weis Center's Family Discovery Series and is suggested for ages 4-10. The performance is 70 minutes without an intermission.

Tickets for the performance are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors 62+, $5 for youth 18 and under, $5 for Bucknell employees and retirees (limit 2), $5 for Bucknell students (limit 2), and $5 for non-Bucknell college students (limit 2). Tickets can be purchased online at or by calling 570-577-1000.

Tickets also are available in person from several locations including the Weis Center lobby (weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and the CAP Center Box Office, located on the ground floor of the Elaine Langone Center (weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
