In cooperation with the National Committee on United States-China Relations (NCUSCR), the China Institute at Bucknell University will host a national CHINA Town Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 18, beginning at 6:55 p.m. in Trout Auditorium. This event will feature a live webcast discussion with former U.S. Secretary of State Dr. Henry Kissinger. David Lai, research professor of Asian security studies at the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pa., will follow with a speech on U.S.-China relations. It is free and open to the public.

China's rapid, emergence as a global player and potential partner on many U.S. policy priorities has ensured that the Sino-American relationship will have a direct impact on the lives of nearly everyone in both countries. To help Americans better understand the complex U.S.-China relationship, the NCUSCR is conducting the 10th annual CHINA Town Hall, a national day of programming on China at more than 70 locations throughout the U.S. These events feature a live webcast with a prominent speaker and local experts' on-site lectures.

This year's program is titled "Local Connections, National Reflections," and it is the fourth straight year that Bucknell is hosting a CHINA Town Hall.
