The Weis Center's Family Discovery Series, which will feature seven performances, will kick off with B — The Underwater Bubble Show on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m. The performance is free and open to the public.

Due to an overwhelming response to this performance and in an effort to ensure everyone's safety, we will be printing tickets to the event. Tickets will only be available at the door beginning at 6 p.m. on Nov. 29, on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved in advance. Upon distribution of all tickets, we will have reached the capacity of our venue and no further guests will be admitted. Children who will not be sitting on the lap of a parent/guardian must carry a ticket for admittance. Tickets are recommended for ages 2 and up.

There will be free parking lots shuttles from Bucknell's primary parking lots to the Weis Center between 6 and 7 p.m., as well as after the performance. Shuttles will run every 10 to 15 minutes and will loop around the following parking lots and parking areas: Marts (Lot 11), Moore Avenue parking spaces, Lots 1 and 5 along Moore Avenue, Upper Stadium (Lots 63 and 65). Once those lots are full, South Campus Drive (Lots 57 and 59) will also be included in the shuttle loop. Public safety officers will also be on hand to direct traffic. For a campus map, please visit here.

With some references and quotes from classics such as Pinocchio, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast and Peter Pan, B - The Underwater Bubble Show is considered a modern fairy tale in which we can all find ourselves, without age limits. The performance is suggested for all ages. Inspired by the famous Canadian troupe Cirque du Soleil, the show is rich in various stage effects using the latest laser technologies, snow cannons, soap bubble tornadoes, theatrical fog, large smoke rings, smoke-filled soap bubble machines, optical illusions and many other surprises.

Mr. B finds himself transported as if by magic to a special, colorful, happy place called Bubblelandia — a place to linger, dream, listen, watch, savor, marvel, and above all, dream. The inhabitants of Bubblelandia — seahorses, dragon fish, starfish, mermaids, clown fish and others — will carry Mr. B along his imaginary journey in this beautiful underwater world where fantasy becomes reality. Running time of this show is just under two hours and includes an intermission.

Attendees are asked to bring a canned food item, which will be donated to Union County Children and Youth Services and distributed to local families in need during the holiday season.

With gratitude, Bucknell acknowledges generous funding from the family of Janet C. Weis, which makes this performance possible. First Community Foundation Partnership and the Susquehanna Valley Mall are also sponsoring this event.
