LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Oswego Jazz Project will perform in concert Thursday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rooke Recital Hall of the Weis Music Building at Bucknell University.
The concert is free and open to the public.
The faculty jazz quartet-in-residence at SUNY Oswego, the quartet includes jazz studies director Eric Schmitz, drums; Robert Auler, keyboards; Trevor Jorgensen, saxophones; and Max McKee, bass
The Oswego Jazz Project performs a wide range of jazz styles including standards, Latin, contemporary selections, ballads and original compositions.
Since its founding in 2006, the quartet has released two CDs, "Oswego Jazz Project" in 2007 and "And the Time is Now" in 2008.
They have been featured on two episodes of NPR's quiz show "Says You" and made a New York City debut at St. Peter's in Manhattan. They also performed at Harborfest 2008.
The Project fuses a high level of skill and artistry with a profound commitment to education and access for students and the community alike. Members of the group will participate in masterclasses during their visit to Bucknell.
