LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Bucknell Institute for Lifelong Learning's Tea & Talk program will present "Dance Therapy for Personal Growth" with Iris Rifkin-Gainer on Tuesday, Oct. 29. The session includes an optional simple movement experience for all abilities; no special clothing is required.

A board-certified dance movement therapist with clients in Lewisburg, Rifkin-Gainer has taught dance therapy in New York City and at a number of colleges and universities. Her presentation will introduce the discipline of Dance Movement Therapy from its healing roots in early cultures to its applicability to personal grown and psychophysical health in the 21st century.

Tea & Talk is a series of free informal tea-time programs; each program begins at 3:30 p.m., with doors opening at 3 p.m. Each event includes teatime refreshments. Tea & Talk is presented in partnership with Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village and held at The Village Common, located at 6 Tressler Blvd. in Lewisburg. [directions]

Upcoming events
The Institute will host the Lunch & Learn program, "Traveling Xinjiang, China's Western Province" with Wolfgang Gunter, on Nov. 19 at noon at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village at The Village Common. Gunter will discuss the political situation in Xinjiang as well as the beauty of the region.

Doors open at 11:30 a.m.; beverages and a light dessert will be provided. Participants may bring their own lunch or purchase a soup-and-sandwich lunch (broccoli cheddar soup and ham and swiss wrap) for $5 by contacting the Bucknell Institute for Lifelong Learning office at 570-522-0105 or lifelonglearning@bucknell.edu up to noon of the day prior to the program; payment can be made at the door. Bravman talk postponed to spring
John Bravman, president of Bucknell University, will give the talk, "Diamonds from Peanut Butter: A Brief History of Airplanes, Computers, Golf Clubs and Just About Everything Else." This event, originally scheduled for Oct. 30, will be rescheduled for the spring term; the new date will be announced later.

The Bucknell Institute for Lifelong Learning has provided adult learners in the Central Susquehanna Valley a broad range of educational and intellectual opportunities since its inauguration during the fall of 2009. The Institute is a self-supporting affiliate of Bucknell University. All of its programs and events are supported by membership and course registration fees and donations from members and friends.
