Professor of Psychology Andrea Halpern has received a Visiting Professorship for one year to Goldsmiths College from the Leverhulme Trust to study music cognition in young adults, senior citizens, and people with neurodegenerative diseases. She will speak at various venues in the U.K. and mentor undergraduate and graduate students at Goldsmiths. The award provides salary, research, and travel support. [posted April 26, 2012]

The book, Dance and the Nation: Performance, Ritual, and Politics in Sri Lanka, by Susan Reed, CSREG director and associate professor of women's and gender studies, and anthropology, has been honored with a Special Citation by the Society of Dance History Scholars.
