Accomplishments/areas of interest/selected publications: Focuses on "mechatronix" (the design of machines/products involving mechanical systems, electronics and intelligent control); teaches innovative classes in which students have designed and built robotic devices to test snowboards and an innovative new kind of bicycle transmission; involved in the construction of an all-terrain vehicle for annual college competition; has been involved in many projects with Bucknell's Small Business Development Center and the state's Ben Franklin Partnership Program; in collaboration with NIST colleagues, received an ASME best-paper award in 2000.
