If you have questions about research and writing as they relate to a particular assignment, or if you have more general concerns, there are many resources available to you. The faculty member who assigned the paper should be your first source of information. Other human resources include the librarians and the Writing Center staff, including peer tutors. You can make individual appointments to meet with a librarian or a member of the Writing Center staff or you can drop in and talk with someone about your paper, project, or presentation.

Most students who commit plagiarism put themselves in the situation by waiting until the last minute to start working on an assignment. Plan ahead and start working on your papers early so you will have plenty of time to get the help you need to do your best work.

There are several helpful online resources you may consult:

  1. The Writing Center, "Selected Online Resources for Writers"
  2. Library & IT, "Research Help"
  3. Library & IT, "Ask a Librarian". From this page you can make an individual appointment with a librarian for help with research
