LEWISBURG, Pa. — Bucknell University and Susquehanna Valley Women in Transition will sponsor the "Take Back the Night Rally and March Against Sexual Assault" Tuesday, April 27, in Hufnagle Park in downtown Lewisburg.
According to Molly Dragiewicz, director of the Women's Resource Center at Bucknell, entertainment begins at 7:30 p.m. and the rally at 8.
"Everyone is invited to participate as the Lewisburg community unites to Take Back the Night," said Dragiewicz.
"This multicultural, intergenerational celebration of the strength of survivors of sexual assault will include music, speakouts, a march through the community, and more."
Take Back the Night is an annual event in many communities and on many college campuses around the world. Speakouts provide a forum for survivors to speak out about their experiences in order to educate the community about the prevalence and impact of rape and other forms of sexual assault.
"The march through the community sends a message that survivors will not be silenced, and sexual assault will not be tolerated," said Dragiewicz.
