LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Bucknell University student chapter of Habitat for Humanity will host its third annual Rubber Duck Derby Saturday, April 28, at 2:30 p.m. from the Market Street Bridge above the Bull Run Creek in Lewisburg's Hufnagle Park.

The first few ducks to finish the race will receive high-valued prizes including a first prize of $500; second prize, a Hershey Park Resort Prize Pack; third prize, an autographed L.J. Smith jersey and $50 cash sponsored by the Philadelphia Eagles; and fourth prize, a $200 gift certificate to BJ's Steak and Rib House in Selinsgrove.

Other prizes are a "Bucknell Package" including a signed basketball from the Bucknell men's basketball team, four season tickets to the Bucknell football season, and four pairs of tickets to the Weis Center for Performing Arts; and a Bucknell painting and $25 Lewisburg gift certificate.

Following the race, a raffle of duck numbers will occur for additional prizes, with several gift certificates to local Lewisburg businesses – Dwellings, A Ray's Tanning, Purity Candy, Mya's, BZ Motors, Mike's@512 and the Bull Run Inn – as well as other merchandise including a subscription to Susquehanna Life magazine.

Ducks on sale

Ducks will be sold April 9 through 13 and April 23 through 27 at Bucknell's Elaine Langone Center, and April 16 through 20 at Susquehanna University's Degenstein Campus Center.

Ducks will be sold at the Bull Run Inn the week before the Derby as well as the day of the Derby from 10 a.m. until the drop. 

Sponsorships of ducks are $5 each, $20 for a 6-quack, $15 for a t-shirt and single duck, and $12 for a t-shirt.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Bucknell Habitat for Humanity campus chapter for the construction of the chapter's third Habitat home.
