LEWISBURG, Pa. — Beginning May 31, 2007, Bucknell University will host nearly 4,000 visitors participating in about 40 conferences.

Students, faculty and visiting poets participating in the Seminar for Younger Poets will read from their works during the seminar held May 31 to June 21. For more information, see

The summer school session will be held June 11-July 20.

Groups: Kiwanis June 8-10; Red Cross June 12-15; Pennsylvania Bankers Association (PBA) Trust School June 17-22; Bureau of Forestry June 22-24; Camp McKelvey June 24-26; PBA School of Commercial Lending July 8-13; Technology Student Association July 9-10; PACAC July 15-18; Renaissance Nutrition July 16-18; PBA School of Banking July 22-27; Loyalsock Band July 22-27.

Religious groups: Episcopal Diocese June 7-9 and School of Christian Missions July 12-15.

Sports camps: softball day camp June 11-14; Bison Shoot-Out Tournament June 15-16; girls basketball June 17-21 and June 28-July 1; boys basketball June 21-23 and June 24-28; lacrosse June 22-25; father/son wrestling June 29-July 1; girls field hockey July 5-8; boys soccer July 8-12 and July 15-19; wrestling July 8-12; water polo July 15-19 and July 19-23; tennis July 15-20; cross country/track July 22-26; girls soccer July 22-26; baseball July 26-29.

In addition, the Mid-Atlantic Long Course Championships will be held July 11-14. The Susquehanna Valley League Swimming Championships will be held July 28 with local swim teams competing.

Two musical events that are open to the public are:

June 30: BJRE Reunion performance, 7:30 p.m., Weis Center for the Performing Arts, with 21 Bucknell alumni members of the Bucknell Jazz and Rock Ensemble.

July 21: Cavalcade of Champions (drum and bugle corps competition), 7 p.m., Christy Mathewson-Memorial Stadium. Tickets are $15 general admission, $19 reserved seating; tickets go on sale June 25 online at or at the Weis Center box office weekdays 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Featured performers are Reading Buccaneers, Bushwackers, Syracuse Brigadiers, Hawthorne Caballeros, and  Empire Statesmen, with the special added attractions the U.S. Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps, Hawthorne Caballeros Alumni and the Lewisburg and Mifflinburg high school marching bands.
