Thirty Bucknell University Relay for Life committee members pose in the Gerhard Fieldhouse with a check for the American Cancer Society.
Fifty-four Bucknell teams with 10-15 members each participated in the American Cancer Society's 12-hour Relay for Life on Sunday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the Gerhard Fieldhouse and raised more than $82,000.
"This is the second-highest grossing collegiate relay team in Pennsylvania," said Joshua Goodman, co-chair for the event. "That's pretty good for only our third relay.
"And we couldn't have done it without the Bucknell Greek organizations, who were huge contributors. The five top teams were Kappa Delta Rho fraternity, Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, Alpha Chi Omega sorority, Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority, and Chi Phi fraternity."
The Bucknell Relay for Life team, which is part of the Colleges Against Cancer, will continue to collect donations until Aug. 31. Visit http://events.cancer.org/Bucknell for more information or to donate.
