LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Bucknell University will offer the workshop, "Basic Financial Statement Preparation and Analysis for Small Retail and Service Businesses," Wednesday, March 11, from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in the SBDC Education Center, Room 207 of the Chamberlin Building on Fifth Street in Lewisburg.
The workshop will be led by SBDC staff members Maureen Hauck, assistant director for business consulting, and Anthony Kidd, business analyst.
Topics to be discussed include preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements; vertical analysis; comparative analysis; ratio analysis; and using financial satements to analyze business results.
With the Bucknell SBDC since March 2000, Hauck has more than 20 years of business experience including retail management, marketing, advertising, salesmanship, and personnel management. She holds her degrees in business administration and secondary education from Bloomsburg University.
Kidd, who joined the SBDC staff in 2002, has more than 20 years' experience in financial analysis. He holds his bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of South Alabama, and has been a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 1980.
Workshop attendance is $35 and includes handouts, refreshments and a one-year subscription to Inc. magazine. Veterans are welcome to attend at no cost.
