LEWISBURG, Pa. — The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Bucknell University will offer the workshop, "Market your business with social media," Thursday, July 15, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Mifflinburg Bank's Community Room, 250 E. Chestnut St. in Mifflinburg.

Daniel Gasteiger, a business analyst and technical writer, will discuss how blogs, forums, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, article publishing and micro-publishing work together for maximum effectiveness.

Topics to be explored include why traditional marketing fails, what social marketing is, the benefits of and objections to social media, and how social marketing wins customers. Gasteiger also will present several case studies.

A graduate of Cornell University, Gasteiger was formerly with Lotus Development Corporation, creators of the 1-2-3 electronic spreadsheet. He is the author of more than 300 consumer magazine articles and several books.
