Lewisburg, PA - Bucknell University's Office of Communications has been honored with a medal in the most prestigious national competition for higher education communicators.
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education, or CASE, named Bucknell the bronze award winner in the Fundraising Publications Packages category of the CASE 2011 Circle of Excellence Awards. Winning entries are selected from nominees across the country on the basis of their lasting impact, high level of professionalism and exceptional results.
"The CASE Circle of Excellence Awards Program represents some of the best work being done in our profession across the country," said Pete Mackey, vice president for communications at Bucknell. Bucknell's "Be Part of the Picture" package was selected from a field of 27 entries and included a direct-mail brochure, an e-solicitation and video, and a thank-you postcard, all of which were written, designed and filmed by Bucknell Communications staff. The campaign used a mosaic image of Bertrand Library made up of 2,000 individual Bucknell photographs to illustrate how thousands of Bucknellians create one strong institution. Staff centrally involved in the project included Donna Glass, graphic designer; Steve Gibson, video and new media developer; and Christina Masciere Wallace, senior writer.
CASE District II Awards
"Be Part of the Picture" previously won a gold medal in the fundraising category of the 2011 CASE District II Accolades Awards, which includes colleges and universities in the Mid-Atlantic states, Ontario and Puerto Rico.

CASE is the professional organization for advancement professionals who work in alumni relations, communications, fundraising, marketing and similar areas. District II is the largest of the districts, with 700 member-institutions.
