Caleb Hopkins

Caleb Hopkins (he/him) is an Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Choral Activities at Bucknell. Dr. Hopkins also serves as the Director of Music at Bucknell’s Rooke Chapel and as the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Susquehanna Valley Chorale.

During his tenure as its Director, the Bucknell University Choir has toured across the United States and to Salzburg, Vienna, and Prague. The Choir performs music from the Renaissance era to that of living composers spanning all styles and genres. The choir has also collaborated with the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony as well as the Bang on a Can All-Stars and composer David Lang in a performance of Lang’s Before and After Nature.

In addition to conducting the choir, Hopkins teaches classes in conducting, choral methods, vocal pedagogy, and theory. He maintains an active schedule as a clinician and guest conductor as well as professional soloist and chorister. Hopkins holds advanced degrees in conducting from the Eastman School and University of Georgia and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Furman University.
