About Dale Orris

Dale Orris is well-known throughout central and eastern Pennsylvania as a music educator and performer. He is a former lead trumpeter and jazz soloist with the Glenn Miller Orchestra and the Buddy Rich Big Band.

Activities and Other Interests

Presently, Dale Orris is teaching in the Lewisburg Area School District at Donald Eichorn Middle School in addition to being an Adjunct Professor at Lycoming College.

Mr. Orris performs with the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra as Principal Trumpet and is a member of the Commonwealth Brass Quintet and the Columbia Brassworks Quintet. He also performs with many jazz groups throughout Central/Eastern PA, New Jersey and Maryland.

Over the years, Mr. Orris has had the opportunity to play behind many great artists including Natalie Cole, Mel Torme, Bill Watrous, Aretha Franklin, Burt Bacharach, Tony Bennett, and the Temptations.

Mr. Orris is active as an adjudicator and clinician and is a former Pennsylvania State President of the International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE).
