Ladi Carr

Ladi Carr, PhD, joined Bucknell University in the newly created role of Senior International Officer (SIO) & Executive Director of Global Education on March 1, 2026. Reporting directly to the provost, Ladi serves as a key member of the provost's leadership team, providing campus-wide vision for internationalization and strengthening global engagement across the institution.

In this new senior role for Bucknell, Ladi is guiding and facilitating the University's overall internationalization efforts, with responsibilities related to global strategy, partnerships, study abroad, the international student experience, global research, and cross-university collaborations with faculty and staff to embed global learning in our curricula and campus life. She will provide oversight for Bucknell Global Education, including international academic advising, research, and risk management, and will work collaboratively with units across the University on matters such as international student recruitment and fellowship programs like Fulbright and Gilman.

Ladi brings nearly two decades of leadership experience in global engagement and global academic operations. Most recently, she served as the Senior Director of Global Engagement at the University of Washington, where she led university-wide collaborations, corporate partnerships and government outreach.

Prior to her time in Seattle, she spent several years at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business. As Director of Global Executive Programs, she managed academic operations for hundreds of participants across more than 15 international locations. Her track record in developing innovative global experiences, including virtual immersions during the pandemic, and her commitment to student success earned her the UVA Darden Friend of the Student Award in both 2022 and 2023.

A native of the Czech Republic, Ladi holds a doctorate and a master of science from Charles University in Prague. She is fluent in English, Czech, and Slovak, and possesses a deep background in cross-cultural communication and crisis management. Her extensive experience in building global partnerships and her strategic approach to international education make her an ideal leader to advance Bucknell's global mission.
