Scott Lotze

Scott Lotze has been a driving force behind campus wellness, fitness, and student engagement at Bucknell University since joining the Athletics & Recreation department in the summer of 2019. Initially stepping into the role of Coordinator of Intramural Sports, Lotze’s leadership and dedication to broad-based student programming led to his promotion to Assistant Athletic Director for Recreation Services in 2023.
In his current role, Lotze oversees the comprehensive planning and execution of Bucknell's Recreation Services department. His responsibilities include managing 20+ club sports, the Krebs Family Fitness Center, as well as overseeing group fitness programs, the university's intramural leagues and special events, while ensuring a vibrant and inclusive recreational culture for the campus community.
Growing up in Rochester, New York, Lotze launched his career in recreation services at his alma mater, SUNY Brockport. After earning his B.S. in Sport Management in 2013, he stayed on as a Graduate Assistant for Club Sports and Intramurals while completing his M.S. in Recreation & Leisure Service Management in 2015.

Before arriving at Bucknell, Lotze spent four years (2015–2019) in South Carolina as the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation and Intramurals at Lander University in Greenwood. During his tenure at Lander, he successfully managed and implemented more than 30 diverse recreational programs, directed a large student staff, and advised numerous campus clubs.
An avid sports enthusiast, in his free time, Scott enjoys working out, traveling, playing board games and watching sports. He resides in Lewisburg with his wife, Jill, and their dog, Kalliopy.
