Academics, Community and Tradition: New Student Orientation 2018

August 22, 2018

Experience the high energy and emotion of New Student Orientation.

Laser tag, bagel brunches, relay races, midnight shopping — not to mention opportunities for students to begin building relationships with the faculty who will guide their academic careers.

It's all part of the controlled chaos of Bucknell's annual New Student Orientation, during which incoming first-year and transfer students get better acquainted with all the University has to offer, from courses of study to religious life, recreation and the performing arts.

Of course, being Bucknell, the five immersive days are also rooted strongly in traditions, including an emotion-packed Candlelighting Ceremony and a procession through the Christy Mathewson Gates, after which new students are full-fledged members of the Bucknell community.
