Therapy Dogs Offer Warm Welcome Back to Bucknell

September 7, 2017

The Bucknell Counseling & Student Development Center invited certified therapy dogs and handlers of the Susquehanna Trail Dog Training Club back to campus on Aug. 28 to help ease students back into their new routines. Bucknellians got to cuddle with these special guests on the Malesardi Quadrangle. This was a great opportunity for students to not only play with these animals, but also to connect with members of the surrounding community.

Evelyn Korbich '19, chemical engineering, said she looks forward to the club's regular visits. "In my experience, it is the handlers as much as the dogs that help to relieve the stress of finals and classes," she said. "It's awesome to know that you can hang out with a furry friend and have a great conversation every time they visit. I met Ryley and her owner back in fall 2016, really enjoyed getting to know them, and have sought them out at every therapy dog event since!"
