RISE Outreach & Engagement Volunteer

Role Description and Details

• Responsibilities

  • Personally invite five to 15 alumni in your network or class year to attend an upcoming RISE event
  • Share event details and registration links via email, text, LinkedIn or social media
  • Encourage participation from underrepresented or less-engaged industries and class years
  • Share feedback with Bucknell staff on who you contacted or any common themes you heard
  • Optionally, help welcome attendees during virtual or in-person events
  • Provide feedback and insights on network engagement and potential growth opportunities

   

• Skills and Experience

  • Friendly and approachable communication style
  • Willingness to reach out and engage with others
  • Basic familiarity with Bucknell alumni events or RISE mission
  • Organization and follow-through
     

   

• Location

  This is a remote position. All outreach can be done from your location via digital communication.

   

• Time Commitment

  This is a short-term, flexible volunteer opportunity typically tied to a specific RISE event or initiative. Volunteers may be asked to reach out two to three times per year, based on availability.

   

• Training Opportunities

  • Orientation session with staff from the Center for Alumni, Family & Philanthropic Engagement
  • Outreach script templates and suggested messaging
  • Tips for effective peer-to-peer communication
  • Optional check-in with Bucknell staff before outreach begins

• Volunteer Expectations

  • Contact a small group of alumni one to two weeks before an event
  • Use a personalized, authentic voice when reaching out
  • Let the Bucknell staff liaison know how many people you reached and any notable responses
  • Be responsive to occasional outreach from staff regarding future engagement opportunities
  • Attend events when possible
