College of Arts & Sciences

The rich tradition of the College of Arts & Sciences forms the heart of Bucknell's liberal arts curriculum. From astronomy, art history and neuroscience to economics, East Asian studies and music, our students explore their passions and discover new interests as they gain different perspectives on a complex world. They choose from dozens of majors and hundreds of courses in the arts and humanities, the social sciences and the natural sciences and mathematics.

Our professors are passionate about their fields and eager to help students dig deep and make exciting intellectual connections. Our graduates are equipped with the critical-thinking, communication and cross-cultural skills that employers seek. Just as important, they gain a strong foundation for a lifetime of curiosity, exploration and personal fulfillment as they prepare to go out and make the world a better place.

Get Involved

At Bucknell, even first-year students can pursue hands-on, graduate-level research — in any discipline. They regularly publish their work and present at professional conferences. You can, too.

CAS Mentor Collective

CAS Mentor Collective is the mentoring program for students beginning in the College of Arts & Sciences. Incoming students are matched with a peer mentor based on common interests, background, academic interests and professional goals. To help match you with a mentor, we'll ask you to complete an online survey to help us get to know you before you begin your first year. Throughout the year, you'll connect one-on-one with your mentor, who will help you navigate your first year of college, build your social network, answer questions and recognize opportunities like extracurriculars, internships, undergraduate research, study abroad and much more.

For questions about the program, or to apply to serve as a mentor for first-year students, please contact:
