Housing Information for International Students
Housing Services will place you in a Residence Hall. Your room will be available for International Student Orientation and you will begin to eat at the Bostwick Marketplace on campus. There is no additional charge for either room or board for the International Student Orientation program. In most cases, you will be assigned a roommate. In most cases, you will be assigned a roommate. You will have the option to request living with or without a roommate.
It is strongly advised that you select a roommate to give you the best opportunity to make friends and adjust to life in the United States.
Housing Services will notify you by August 1 about your room assignment and your roommate. If you have any questions about housing or roommate information, you can email Housing Services at housing@bucknell.edu or visit the Housing Services web site for admitted students.
First-year Housing
First-year students are housed in four residence halls: McDonnell, Smith, Swartz and Vedder Halls. A typical double occupancy room is approximately 160 square feet (or higher).

Residential Colleges
The Residential Colleges program is highly recommended for new international students. It offers a unique living/learning opportunity where first-year students with similar interests can take a course as well as live together. The program offers courses in the following eight themes: Arts, Environmental, Discovery, Global, Humanities, Language & Culture, Social Justice, and Society & Technology.

Substance-Free Housing
The Healthy Living (Health and Wellness) community, designed in partnership with students, provides a fun and exciting social environment in which alcohol, tobacco and other drugs may not be used on the hall. All residents make a commitment to maintain a substance-free living space and create an atmosphere of mutual respect for individual lifestyle choices.
