Bucknell's campus is open, and we welcome visitors. In order to ensure the health and safety of all, the University has enacted COVID-19 protocols for events and visitors, including masking requirements. These same guidelines apply to all, including our own students, faculty and staff, regardless of vaccination status.

Bucknell reserves the right to request that visitors who do not follow these protocols leave University property. These protocols may be subject to change at any time. Please check this page prior to visiting campus for the latest updates.

COVID-19 Symptoms & Exposure

Please do not come to campus if you do not feel well, have exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 in the past 10 days, have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 10 days, or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the past 10 days.

Face Coverings

Everyone (including visitors, students, faculty and staff) is required to wear a face covering in all indoor public and academic spaces.

Face coverings are not required in outdoor areas of campus. This guideline applies to all visitors regardless of vaccination status. Please always have a mask available when you are on campus.

Guidelines for specific situations are as follows:

  • Athletics: Spectators must wear masks at indoor athletics events. Masks are encouraged but not required at outdoor events.
  • Guests in residence halls: Visitors are not required to wear masks in private student rooms. Wearing a mask is encouraged in shared common areas in residence halls.
  • Indoor dining: Masks must be worn except when eating or drinking.
  • Tents: For masking purposes, enclosed tents with sides are considered indoor spaces, and masks must be worn inside. Open-sided tents are considered outdoor spaces.
  • Move-in: Since there will be a large number of people entering the residential buildings at one time, all visitors and students should wear masks in residence halls during move-in.

Event Capacity & Social Distancing

Some events may impose additional guidelines for social distancing or limit guest capacity through ticketing and occupancy restrictions. Advance registration may also be required for some events. Guests and visitors should observe these restrictions and posted signage, including instructions for social distancing.
