The Newman House

610 St. George St.

The Newman House is the Catholic community's center for spiritual education, informal fellowship and serves as a "home away from home" for many Bucknellians. With its comfortable living room and big front porch, Newman House provides a space for students to pray in the chapel, play the piano, watch television, sit by the fireplace, study, cook and relax with friends. During the academic year, the Newman House is open from 8 a.m.-11 p.m. every day except during breaks.  All are welcome!

In addition to our weekly masses, CCM also hosts a variety of events throughout the academic year that are open to anyone in the Bucknell community! Stop by the Newman House throughout the year and enjoy:

  • Thursday night dinners
  • Cookouts
  • Community service opportunities
  • Retreats
  • Outdoor activities (kayaking, hikes, runs, campfires, etc)
  • Fall celebration
  • Super Bowl Party
  • Respect Life Week events
  • Bible and book studies
  • Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
  • Holiday parties
  • Family weekend events
  • Thanksgiving meal
