Bison Fellows Program: Humanities

In the Bison Fellows Program: Humanities you'll get to study the most urgent questions, confounding problems and enduring expressions of human meaning. Students in the Bison Fellows Program: Humanities examine contested definitions of the good, the true and the beautiful; uncover hidden, forgotten or neglected histories; confront systemic legacies of injustice and oppression; examine the nuances of language and its power to shape identity and experience; and learn to connect different forms of knowledge about the world and our place within it. Foundation Seminars centered around humanistic subjects — such as debates about justice, religious freedom, racial inequities and revolutionary politics — will help you develop durable skills in critical thinking, close reading, evidence-based argumentation and analytical writing. During the semester, you and your classmates will also take a trip to a city, such as New York or Washington, D.C., for related experiential learning and cultural engagement opportunities. The Bison Fellows Program: Humanities Community pushes students to follow their curiosity from the classroom into the world.
